YouTube CPM Calculator

CPM (Cost Per Mille) is what advertisers pay YouTube per 1,000 ad impressions — before YouTube's share. Enter gross ad revenue and monetized impressions to compute your CPM.

CPM

CPM is undefined when monetized impressions is zero.

Formula: CPM = gross ad revenue / monetized impressions × 1000
CPM is not RPM. CPM measures what advertisers pay per 1,000 monetized impressions (before YouTube's share). RPM measures what the creator earns per 1,000 total views (after YouTube's share). A higher CPM does not automatically mean higher take-home revenue.

FAQ

What is CPM?
CPM (Cost Per Mille) is the amount an advertiser pays per 1,000 ad impressions. It's an advertiser-side metric.
Why is my CPM higher than my RPM?
CPM is before YouTube's revenue share and only counts monetized impressions. RPM is after YouTube's share and divides by all your views (including non-monetized ones). RPM is always lower than CPM.
